My students need 23 flash drives anda 32GB Swivel USB Drive to work on their college essays and writing portfolios.

I am teaching a college summit class to a group of inner city senior high students in a blighted neighborhood. Our school has a free and reduced lunch rate of 89%. Poverty isn't an issue in the newspapers, but rather a way of life. At our school we are 100% committed to having our students see themselves as college, and not Taco Bell material. Every single senior student will be a part of this class and our whole focus will be getting into college. We just expect them to go on to a higher institution and we also know higher expectations work.
Too many people don't expect enough of our wonderful black children, but I do, all of us at this school do. We have 16 lap tops for a 100 students to use, so it is impossible to save all of their work on the C drive. But I need them to be writing, writing, peer editing and writing some more, it is difficult when the lap tops are used all over school to preserve copies and drafts.
Flash drives would be ideal. We could assign 2 - 3 kids to a drive in a class and with 23 of them, all of our seniors essays, speeches, nomination forms, awards letters and more could be saved. One master flash drive would be kept with the teachers so all of the work would be protected and edited.
I know there are people out here who also know that when inner city parents send us their children, they are sending us their very best. Your generous gift would allow these students to save and edit their documents. With the cost of printer ink, I can't print 100 papers a month, let alone a day. I need to have students printing only their finished product and sometimes that is 2-3 drafts. You can make the difference and help these children take the steps needed to apply to college. In the college summit class, that is ALL we will do, discuss and dream and plan and apply. Please be a part of it. Thank you.
