Rock Tumbler

My students need two rock tumblers.

I teach an 8th grade public school Geoscience elective class in a community whose science lab fund has just been slashed to zero. Our school is a Title 1 funded school in a moderate to high need community due to our high population of No Child Left Behind students bussed in from surrounding areas.

Since our science lab supply budget was just slashed to zero we are in desperate need of much needed lab supplies such these rock tumblers to teach science the way it should be taught: hands-on and exciting!

These rock tumblers will show students how the Earth's rocks and minerals are magically transformed into polished gem stones. Students will be encouraged to look beyond the plain old rocks they see everywhere with these rock tumblers and will bring Geoscience alive and students will realize that our Earth has been hard at work creating such jewels. This type of lesson is what creates a memorable teachable moment.
