I am a first grade ESL teacher who team teachers with a co-worker. My co-worker teaches Math to both groups, and has a wonderful, huge carpet where students meet for our Morning Message and Calendar. Later in the day, students come to my classroom, for Writing Workshop.

We love combining our classrooms for various projects and experiments, however, my old group rug is not big enough to hold both classes. Unlike their other classroom, students are not able to sit as a group on the group rug. Although I try to keep it creative as to which group (boys/girls/Team 1/Team 2, etc.) gets to sit on the floor each time, I would prefer that we all be able to sit together.

The colorful carpet that I have chosen would be perfect for our print-rich Language Arts classroom. Each child would have their own square, which will help in classroom management and discipline. No more rushing to the carpet to get a spot on the rug--everyone would have their own special place!

Our 50+ year old classroom could really use a make-over! The addition of this bright, cheery group rug would help make our room a more pleasant learning environment. It will also bring our groups together and be a great classroom management tool. Your donation will help ensure that our classroom has a happy and inviting atmosphere. THANK YOU!
