Really Great Reading Project

My students need 9 sets of high interest books that they can read on their own level. The reading abilities of my students are diverse, and they learn and progress much faster when they can read on the appropriate level for their ability.

Most of the students I teach are from low income families. At least 80% receive free lunch.

Most of these students have very few, if any, books of their own. Their parents struggle to provide the basic necessities like food and clothing. They also have a wide range of reading levels.

I want to give them books they can read in the classroom that are easy enough for them to enjoy and understand, but not so easy that they are bored. I want to give them books that are on the correct level because this will foster a love of reading and also help them become better readers. If I have these leveled books in my classroom, I will be able to give the students more individualized instruction and they will learn much faster
