Bringing a Permanent Science Discovery Tank in the Classroom

My students need a science tank to participate in hands on science studies to bring the outside world in. We also need a screen top to keep all the critters in they bring from home and they are investigating!

I teach 2nd grade in a rural area classroom with a high poverty rate and high learning expectations enriched with math, science, reading and social studies involving technology in all areas.

Our 2nd grade classroom has been diving into nature with limited learning supplies. We are currently using a loan discovery tank that will have to be return to it's owner soon. We would like to have our own discovery tank to enjoy throughout the year. The students are continuously bringing in items to investigate in our tank and we do not want the learning to end.

We simply need a discovery tank to meet many areas of our curriculum. The students are learning about life science, many phases of life cycles and beyond the science content to many areas of the curriculum. The discovery tank has inspired many stories to write, research to read and made the students technologically savvy!

By donating to our classroom and funding a discovery tank, my students will be able to learn from their excitement of life around them all year long. This tank can create a permanent avenues for learning to take place. As a teacher I can expand their interest areas of life science to writing and reading. You will make it possible for my students to get excited and involved in their learning in all areas of the curriculum. The tank is a learning experience they will never forget!
