In my class, I teach emerging engineers. Students are introduced to various fields of engineering. 6th, 7th and 8th graders learn about engineering principles such as the design process, robotics, aeronautics and digital electronics.

Students use dial calipers in my class to accurately measure objects in the reverse engineering process. Over the years, the dial calipers have become unusable due to wear and tear. With a recent budget crisis and no way to replace them, we are desperately in need of new measurement devices.

Digital calipers are more user-friendly, have a faster spin-up time and are easier to teach how to use. Digital calipers will allow me teach teach my students more about engineering and less about how to use a specific tool.

Your help will aid me in my question to forge a new generation of engineers. Engineers need reliable accurate tools to do their jobs. Please help me provide these tools for our future engineers!
