I teach grades 9-12 Fine Arts in a high poverty high with a high at risk population. Our school has the largest number of special needs students in the district as well as the special needs department being the largest department in the school.
My students have a range in skill levels, reading levels, and interests. My goal is to use these texts to help fulfill a need in that I can loan them to students as well as use them to assist the students on special projects and student interest.
I ordered 25 books that range in title from "Drawing from the Right Side of the Brain-workbook" to "Comics". I want to encourage the students to research and find out information regarding their interests, career aspirations, and artistic theories.
Your assistance will provide my students with a myriad of books for research, study, theory and curriculum integration with other subjects.
