MUSIC and SMART

My students need the Finale 2009 Music Notation Software.

Look out Bach, Beethoven and Mozart, because my student composers are eager and waiting to produce their first cantata, quartet or maybe even a symphony. I teach Elementary Music in a small rural town in WI. I try to instill a love for all types of music from their early Kindergarten years until they leave our school. It's one thing to "listen" to someone else music, but how cool would be to write your own? Not only write it, but hear what it sounds like immediately. Having a SMART Board and the ability to use Finale, a Music Notation Software package, budding composers have the best of both worlds.

Academic Music Standards state that "students will compose and arrange music." Not so easy if you don't have the means, such as Notation Software, to do the task. Using our classroom SMART Board, my students would not only see the music they are composing and arranging, but hear it as well. Nothing is more encouraging than immediate feedback.

I have the SMART Board, but we need the Notation Software to make our music come alive. Composing and arranging music is an important creative activity and a means of personal expression for our students. The ability to perform one of their own musical works would be a source of great satisfaction as well as a means of sharing musical inspiration with other.

Please help my students become "musically" all that they can be. Music can touch our hearts, minds and souls in a way that nothing else can.
