I have been teaching in a small town for the past 13 years. The kids I have in my classroom are from hard working farm families. Our school is unique. We may not have what larger schools have in terms of technology but we work with what we have. It has kindergarten through Senior High school all in one building. Teaching in such a small community is wonderful as everyone knows each other.

Our school does not have enough cameras and software for everyone to use. We usually have to hunt down a camera to use for a special project and sometimes we miss out on important things that are happening in the room. With the items I asked for we can capture the kids doing random things and post them on the website so their parents can take part in their learning.

I am asking for a digital camera, a flip video recorder, and movie studio software. I have many ideas for the items listed above. Some include recording plays, reading final drafts of papers, recording commercials for language class, making an end of the year DVD for each child to bring home to their families, and posting pictures on the internet for the families to see. The children are your most important investment and I am sure all parents would love to take part in everything they do even though they cannot be there during the school hours.

This project is very important to our classroom. Being from a smaller town we do not get the exposure most larger systems have of the world. If I can bring more technology into the classroom for the kids to see and use and get them exposed to I feel the children will be better prepared to face the future. With your help I can make this happen. With your donation to my classroom we can make a difference in the lives of many children.
