My young first and second graders deserve the chance to become as media literate as their more affluent peers across town. Having easier access to digital cameras will enable them to meet our new technology benchmarks.

OK- it's time to take pictures, record audio, learn iPhoto, and learn to save pictures. But, wait! There's no camera available for them? The whole school has to share only 2 cameras?! DonorsChoose to the rescue! Having these 3 cameras will let us work on our technology skills whenever we need to, letting us keep pace with the other schools in our district that have cameras donated to them by their PTAs. This project is our chance to level the playing field for our youngest "techies!"

We have new media literacy benchmarks, and the other schools in our district have PTAs that are able to donate digital cameras to their schools. Ours would love to, also, but simply don't have the funds. The district does what it can to provide us all with the same equipment, but our PTA's funds are anything but equitable.

You can make it possible for our students to meet success with their media literacy education. You can make a difference for them now, and in the future, by giving them the tools they need in our media literate world. YOur help will make all the difference!
