A Blasting Education!

My students need 36 model rockets with a launch kit and 1 launch day emergency pack.

3-2-1-Blast off to learning about space! My 32 third graders from varying backgrounds will have the opportunity to build and then launch their own rockets during a science unit related to our solar system.

Our solar system is one of the many educational standards that 3rd grader teachers are required to teach in the state of Oregon and it is a challenging topic for students of this age to understand. Obviously, we cannot travel into space to explore, however if we had the materials to build rockets, then at least the kids could have a hands-on experience that would make a lasting memory. Our district is experiencing a major budget crisis and therefore a project like this is not feasible using district money.

In order to give these third graders this memorable experience, I would need enough rockets for my 32 students. I would also need a launch kit to make this science unit a "blasting" memory.

If this project gets funded, my students will have an educational experience that will sit in their memory's for a lifetime. It could be "the" memory that inspires them to ask the types of questions that will promote a lifetime of learning.
