My students are a group of enthusiastic learners who love to read and are eager for knowledge! I teach second grade in Georgia. Now that my students have learned to read, they are now reading to learn.

Most of my students are excellent readers, but we lack the necessary materials to expand their vocabularies. Imagine trying to teach dictionary skills to a class of 20+ students with only one dictionary for every 3-4 students. YIKES! It is a daunting task...so many little hands and only one dictionary for each group. "Who gets to hold the dictionary?" "Who gets to look up the word?" "When will it be my turn?" "But, I am not finished yet." These are the comments I get from my students when we are learning dictionary skills and working on vocabulary lessons.

How wonderful it would be if I could place a dictionary in each set of little hands. We need a class set of Intermediate Dictionaries so that we are able to not only expand our vocabularies but to also have a hands-on resource.
