Staplers and Expos

My students need 5 staplers and Expo dry erase markers.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Broken, stuck, or out of ink...this is the state of our most used supplies. I teach all subjects to a classroom full of fabulous fifth graders. We are in a low socioeconomic area. With budget cuts and the current economy, parents and I are finding it difficult to keep our classroom supplied.

At the beginning of the year, our class had five used, but working staplers. We have given them quite a workout so far, four of them falling apart, or becoming stuck, leaving 31 students to use just one. During math, my students practice newly taught skills on individual dry erase boards. It is a great way for me to immediately see who understands the lesson, and who I need to reteach. However, most of our Expo markers have broken or run out of ink.

Our class desperately needs five new staplers, so we can staple our assignments quickly. We also need an abundant supply of Expos so that we may practice our math lessons.

You will make it possible for our class to staple assignments quickly. Your help will also allow my students to practice math skills.
