Mr. Buck from Jacksonville FL is requesting technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My high achieving students need the latest generation of interactive technology to make their science and social studies units hands-on and exciting, and with the incredible Mimio Interactive system, I can instantly turn any surface into a whiteboard that can make any lesson come alive!

I am the most blessed teacher in the world! I am fortunate enough to be a founding member of the KIPP Strive faculty in metro Atlanta. KIPP is a national system of charter schools that believe that hard-work, discipline and high-standards can lead to success for any student. My 5th graders come from a rough area, but they know the value of their education and a strong work ethic. These kids are on their way to amazing achievements!
As with any brand new school, KIPP Strive is starting from the ground up. We have our building, high-energy teachers, and amazing students, but we are looking for the kind of interactive equipment that is needed to engage and advance our students to the heights we want them to achieve. Though much can be achieved with hard work, we want our school to be the kind of hands-on environment that creates life-long learners.
With the Mimio interactive system, any classroom becomes an interactive experience that is sure to excite and engage any student. By making a lecture 3-D, or a book into a visual experience, all kinds of materials can be used to heighten the learning experience of all students. The science labs we do will be amazingly interesting and students will be able to virtually travel in time and space for our social studies curriculum. These two subjects need to be hands-on and live-action, and this technology can make that happen! With the Mimio Pad, all of the things that are being done in the class can be projected on any wall for the whole class to see. This kind of shared learning is a very powerful tool in raising student achievement.
This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the cutting edge of technology in the classroom, and to the cutting edge of education reform. KIPP schools work. It really is that simple. We work hard, every single one of us, and the results prove it. We also work in an exciting and fun way that makes our kids want to put in the extra time and energy to be great. By giving to this project you can be the final piece of a puzzle that is changing the face of the way we educate our most vital resource: our children.
