My students need the Yoga Ed Curriculum to spice up our wellness.

Yoga is a great way to reduce stress and that is one piece of baggage our students hold with them daily. Our school services all of the deaf elementary students in the district. We are a K-6 Elementary school in a high poverty area. 90% of our student population is part of the free and reduced lunch program and many of them get little to no physical activity outside of our gymnasium.

Yoga is newly being introduced at the elementary age. I think it is necessary in our school to help kids focus and concentrate. Yoga is a life-long practice for health of body and mind and needs to be taught as young as possible.

The resource I am looking for is a full 26 week curriculum about teaching Yoga to Grades 3-5. I feel that out of all of the curriculum's out there this one is the best because it is an appropriate age range and easily adaptable to younger and older grades. Teaching Yoga will help to increase flexibility, build strength and balance, and help the students to learn relaxation techniques. They will learn posture improving practices that will help reduce the risk of injuries. They will also have the opportunity to build a healthy and positive self-image. Most importantly they will learn stress-reduction techniques to help in day to day challenges.

Your help will create endless possibilities for our students. My students will be able to take control of their stressful situations, create positive self-images, and reduce the risk of injuries all because of your donation.
