Using Kettlebells to Encourage Weight Training... I teach eleventh grade health and physical education. The school district is very large and diverse both ethnically and socioeconomically.

With current budget cutbacks there is no money available to enhance our program. I just returned from the National AAHPERD Convention and weight training and circuit training was at the forefront of the high school sessions. Currently we do not have the equipment to move the physical education program in this direction.

This project will give students a better understanding of how to properly weight train using kettlebells. These kettlebells will allow students to see how easy it can be to weight train without a weight room available. Students will be able to participate in a multitude of activities designed to build strength and endurance.

With your help my students will learn how to properly weight train, build endurance and strength, and confidence. You will make it possible for my students to put to use two of the five components of fitness (muscular endurance and muscular strength) by engaging in circuit training using kettlebells.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
