Projecting our Future

My students need a VP20M Visual Presenter. The VP20M is a full-featured visual presenter and a perfect choice for teachers and professionals on-the-go with a budget conscious mind. Display 2D and 3D objects on any projector screen, TV or computer monitor so your whole audience can see what you're talking about. The The VP20M is mounted on a flexible gooseneck mount for maximum versatility, and uses a built-in microphone that when hooked up to a multimedia projector with speakers, will project enough sound for small groups of people.

Ms. Kelley Opelika Middle School
Opelika, AL Grades 6-8

I teach 6th grade inclusion, grade-level, and advanced students at a middle school. We follow the middle school concepts at our school. I currently teach at a middle school where more than 50% of the students are on free or reduced lunch. We like to focus on using hands-on activities in our classroom. When students get to share and present their own work to the class the students come alive. The only problem is that only a few students up close can see what they did on their paper or project.

Sharing in the classroom can be difficult. For many students, the chance to get up in front of the class and share is a great motivating tool to help them do their best. A document camera would provide a tool that would allow the entire class to see the students' work. A document camera would also provide a resource to use in the classroom that would allow me to show common errors occurring on assignments. A document camera is an essential tool in presenting work to the class and providing instantaneous feedback. Anything that I can bring into the lessons taught to the students in my class that adds interest and understanding is a benefit to my students and our neighborhood. We have an overhead projector that we can use in the classroom, but this does not allow the students to share their own work with the class. By providing the students a way to share and get involved in the class will help to provide ownership to the students. Much of my supply money is spent on materials for the students. Copying my material onto transparencies can be very expensive. Having a projector would allow me to free up some money spent on transparencies, so that I can use this money on other materials.

Thank you for your time and consideration of my grant request. We have many students who are lower income and don't get much help at home. As a school, we strive to provide the best education possible for our students. Your generosity will make an immediate difference in the lives of my students and future students in the coming school years. We will use your gift to help our students become better speakers and learners. As a teacher, I am constantly striving to help my students prepare for life, and your gift will help me in this endeavor. Your generosity is going to help us buy the materials needed for my students’ classroom. Your donation will make it possible for my students to see math, science, and reading in a new light. Help light up the classroom for our students. You will help make it possible for my students to interact, learn from one another, share with each other, and gain ownership in their classroom.
