I am the media coordinator for a small rural elementary school in North Carolina. Our school has an enrollment of around 188 students in pre-K through fifth grade.

My students live in a small rural community that is not very diverse and I want to expose them to other parts of the world through various learning activities. It is my hope that learning about the customs, foods, music and daily life found in various countries, will help these students appreciate cultural differences and recognize the many things people around the world have in common.

We need a variety of current resources on world cultures, including songs and music, books and activity cards for Mexico, Ancient Egypt, China, Japan, South America. These activity books, CDs, songbooks and photo cards will help students participate in a variety of learning activities to broaden their knowledge of the world around them.

Your donation will help make it possible for my students to engage in learning about our global community and their place in it.
