My tenth and eleventh grade geometry class serves students in a high needs alternative school.

Many of our students have not been successful at math in the traditional schools, but they can and have been successful.

A document camera would help me as the teacher facilitate learning through two student projects. The two projects are first a triangle project where the students create 7 different triangles and explore the properties of those triangles. The second is an area projects where the students discover the area of different shapes (triangles, squares, trapezoids, etc. and shapes that are a combination of multiple polygons.)

The donation of a document camera will make the students here do better at math. Not just prepare them for the state test, but foster a learning, questioning, challenging, environment that will help the students succeed.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
