My students need 43 high interest adolescent literature books for our classroom library.

My students thirst for great fiction that can only be quenched by increasing our classroom library! I teach 6th-8th grade Reading Development at an academic and athletics magnet school. Our middle school is made up of at-risk urban students. These great kids attend because they want to be part of a culture of learners who have a desire to succeed in academics and sports.

Many of my students come from families who are not very supportive of getting the materials necessary for their children to go above and beyond the basics. For example, it is extremely out of the ordinary for parents to take their kids to the library to research or check out books. Most students have domestic responsibilities that are not the norm of children their age in this country. However, my kids don't let these responsibilities get in the way of their desire for the best education possible.

It would be unbelievably wonderful to give the kids I work with a better and more updated classroom library. Great books allow them to dream beyond their current position in life and inspire them to continue reading and writing, for that matter.

You will make a tremendous difference in these remarkable middle schoolers lives by giving them the gift of a great book. You will enhance their learning experience, and a piece of your generosity will be taken with them wherever they go, as they store up the knowledge and inspiration they gain from the literature you give.
