"I teach low income students who often do not have the opportunity to enjoy books at home. Many of my students are bilingual students from low income homes. They do not have many books, or the opportunity to get books to read for pleasure. If my students had a more inviting library that included bean bag chairs and a comfortable carpet to relax on they would be more inclined to go to the library. In a comfortable environment students would learn to enjoy books and enjoy reading. With your help my students will be able to enjoy reading and develop a love of books.
My students need a Lots of Dots Carpet and 2 bean bag chairs.
The cost of this proposal is $439, which includes shipping for any materials requested and fulfillment ."

Dear Audra, Mr. Luis Avila , S and Ashley,
Thank you so much for your generous donations. The carpet and bean bags have made a huge difference in our classroom. With our new carpet all 31 of my students are now able to sit comfortably for read aloud and mini-lessons. There is no longer anyone fighting to see who is on the carpet and therefore students are able to focus more on instruction. My students also love their bean bags. They are using them during workshop time to read independently and with a partner. Your generous donations have really made our classroom a more inviting place for learning. With gratitude, Mrs. B.

Dear Audra, Mr. Luis Avila , S and Ashley,
I can not say "Thank You" enough. Because of your generous donations my students will have an attractive and inviting area to be able to practice reading and learn to read for enjoyment. I am so grateful that there are others who share a love of reading and want to see that passed on to our children. In a low income area children do not always have an opportunity to read for enjoyment, through your donations I will be able to provide them that time daily. I am positive that my students this year, and in the future, will enjoy their new library center. Thank you so much! With gratitude, Mrs. B.

"I gave to this project because...I attended Haugan and the library was a favorite room and Mrs Swanson was a most wonderful librarian and helped instill in me a love of reading and words."
