Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach 6th grade at a Title I school. Many of our families struggle to simply "make ends meet." Please help our kids build castles this year!

Students in our class love hands-on activities. They have been learning all about the different ancient civilizations throughout the world this year. For instance, we learned about China, India, and Egypt. When we had a unit on Egypt, many of the kids were unable to build pyramids due to lack of funding. They would love to be able to build castles and learn about the functions and parts of these wonderful, historical buildings.

In order to complete this project we will need cardboard, glue, scissors, labels, black markers, paintbrushes, and paint. With these items, students can design and create miniature castles to display for the entire school to enjoy this Spring. This will help them learn more about the Medieval world than any textbook could possibly teach!

You will ensure that my students have an experience they will never forget. When they complete this project, they can bring home their work and proudly show it to their families. Thank you!
