Your Metallophone Is Calling

My regular ed and deaf ed students need one bass metallophone.

We would love to have our metallophone ringing in our music class! I teach in a high poverty inner-city elementary school in Washington State. I teach music to Developmental Preschool through 5th grade. Our school also houses our district's deaf education program (Pre-K through 5th grade).

My deaf students have been learning to play and improvise on the barred instruments that we currently have. Our bass metallophone is broken and unusable. We have been performing reader's musical theater, and we would love to incorporate a bass metallophone into the lessons.

My deaf students especially can really feel the vibrations of a large bass instrument. So, when we improvise music for our reader's musical theater, they can more easily create a musical idea, and sense pulse/beat.

Your generous help will truly make a difference for my profoundly deaf students and hard of hearing students. I would dearly love to be able to bring this opportunity to them all.
