My students need a camcorder and tripod for making movies on energy saving ideas. They write, direct, act, film and edit their movies while they learn different ways to save energy.

7-12 grade Charter school for the arts, in rural poverty area that has turned student achievement around and given many students a place where they "fit in" when they previously did not at other schools.

Charter school that has reintroduced the arts into student's academic lives. Through this, students' passions thrive and their learning greatly improves. Students have become interested in "Green Education" and want to know how they can implement green ideas now and how to keep their future "green".

We need at least one camcorder for the students to make their own movies on "green ideas" such as everyday ways they can save energy. We tried this with digital cameras but the quality was poor and did not clearly demonstrate the amount of work the students put into their films.

Learning to be "Green" is an important ideal that students need to embrace NOW, so that they will develop habits that will improve the world for them and their future. They get very excited about this when they can put a quality project together and then share their ideas through the Internet.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
