3 Wheels are Better Than 2!

My students need an adapted tricycle that they can ride, which will enable them to participate in gym class along with their non-disabled peers while they are also working on physical goals.

How would you like to be stuck in a wheelchair all day long? Not able to move your legs, shift your weight, or get up and stretch out. If it were me, I would have a difficult time concentrating on anything else.

Five of my students are in that exact situation due to the need of a wheelchair at all times. We do our best to get these student out into gait trainers to work on walking and into standers to work on bearing weight, but there is more to offer them!

Having a tricycle will give them one more opportunity to get out of that wheelchair, stretch out their legs out, build muscle, and have fun doing it!

I think it's safe to say that bike riding is something most people enjoy to do. Due to the type of bike my students need and the price of one, they don't get that same opportunity. Everyone else gets to ride a bike and so should they! With your help, this can be possible!
