I teach in a regular education kindergarten class that serves regular education students, special education students, and English language learners. Most of my students receive free lunches.

Many of my students come to kindergarten with limited preschool experiences or learning experiences at home. Their families have limited resources to help provide preschool experiences and materials.

My students benefit from hands-on materials they can manipulate and observe to make the connection between letter names, letter sounds, and that letters go together to create words. Some of my students, also, benefit from resources that allow them to use language they already have as well as learn new words by talking with their peers about hands-on materials.

Your donation of manipulative materials will benefit all of my students by helping them learn literacy and language skills that will help them be successful in first grade.
