I teach technology, multimedia, and yearbook classes. I have both 7th and 8th grade students from all different backgrounds in my classes. My school has the lowest income families in the community and struggles with getting up to date technology for the classrooms.

My students are currently having to use cameras that put pictures on floppy disks and I am afraid are older than most of them. Many times they have to share a camera because the other is not working for one reason or another. Also they are not learning much about digital photography using these cameras that are as low as 1.2 megapixels. My students really need some new and updated cameras so that they can produce a better yearbook and learn more about current digital photography.

My students are very creative individuals and they come up with amazing designs and are wonderful students, but without updated cameras they often have to try to recreate scenes due to the cameras not taking pictures properly or due to the quality of the picture not being good enough. My students often get very frustrated and discouraged by these things. If my students were to get at least 2 new digital cameras to share they would be able to get their work done faster and with better quality and lest frustrations.

Your help will ensure that my students are able to develop a love for technology and digital photography. It will give them the ability to not give up, and for some of my students this is the only class that is keeping them interested in staying in school.
