Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Take a look and see! I am a new teacher to 4th grade this year. We are a high-need community. I give to my students when I can, but this I can not do for them. It is very important to have an easel in the classroom where I can leave messages and write their response to literature questions they need to do every morning, as well as teach with the easel. I also would use the white board and magnetic part of the easel for interactive work, where all the students get a chance to come up and show their understanding of a concept we might be working on.

The situation here is dire. I do not receive any money to buy any supplies of any kind. That means I pay for the supplies I need and want. I do receive basic supplies like copy paper and pencils, but not much else. We have been told there is no money. I buy my materials at the beginning of the year, but this one I could not afford. Please help!

I only need this one easel to help all the students in my class and classes to come. If you fund my project all the students will be able to see from wherever they are. They will be able to read and respond to concepts and information I leave for them. Also, I would be able to leave information on the charts for later review. Now I write on the blackboard and have to erase as I progress through my lessons of the day. If I want to review or re-teach a concept I must rewrite the problem or information again and again.

You can make this possible for all my students to have another teaching tool right at their fingertips. It does make a huge difference to be able to teach with charts, which can later be hung up. Interactive lessons are how students really learn. Lessons are modeled, practiced and done independently. What a gift you could give. What a educational tool to learning a better way!
