Looking at all sides of Geometry and Algebra! I want to be the teacher that kids remember as being motivating! I teach 9th-12th grade special education and advanced students in a resort town. Students are enrolled in Geometry and Algebra 2. One important job I have this term is to prepare my students to pass the state test called HSAP. My school has the highest ESOL population in our county. My goal is to be able to reach and motivate all of the various groups enrolled in my classroom.

Remember when you were in elementary school and you got to play with paper coins and fun math games? I want to make math fun in the high school level. Several of my students come from low income homes and may find math dry. I would like to be able to offer each of them a chance for success and the opportunity to participate in fun classroom activities. I want to make geometry more active and motivate the students with interactive projects. The students are ready to learn and they want to learn and I want to make them succeed. They want to do more hands-on projects and your help would guarantee that!

I plan on offering several activities that are fun and exciting. I want to teach the kids using a variety of methods like geometry jokes, geoshapes, and interesting activities. These techniques are a great way to engage various math concepts and make the classroom fun again. The books I requested will offer insight for the struggling students, the pencils and card stock will provide resources for projects dealing with shapes and spatial practice.

You will make it possible for my students to find math fun again! Your help will also gain a stronger understanding of geometry concepts covered this term. Your help will empower my students to be life long learners.
