My students need a Flip Mino portable video camcorder.

I am a first year teacher in Queens Village. I am considered a Science cluster teacher-teaching multiple grade levels including 4th, 6th and 7th.

While our school is only one year old and we have a variety of technology, things just don’t seem to work. We are being affected by budget cuts and are even forced to ration paper. I try to incorporate technology as much as possible in my classroom.

I am asking for a Flip Mino camcorder. This camcorder is a reliable one touch camcorder that is easy to use for students and computer friendly. It has a USB connection to easily put recorded films onto the computer. As a first year teacher I try extremely hard to get my students involved in the learning process and excited about science. My students enjoy making you-tube videos and their own recorded science projects. We have a science fair that each 7th grade student must participate in for promotion to 8th grade. The Flip Mino would allow my students to record their data and experiments.

As we now live in an extremely technological era, the Flip Mino would make the normally dull required science fair into a unique and exciting experience for my students. I am hoping to take their science fair videos and post them on our school website as well as their choice of you-tube, my space etc. I would deem this project successful if I can just get those two or three more students into their science fair projects.
