My students need a book binder and binding supplies to publish their writing work after they complete each unit of study.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Song's classroom raised $193
This project is fully funded
I teach first grade. There are 20 students in the classroom who enjoy reading, writing, math, and all the learning presented to them. I've chosen to teach in Harlem because I believe that high quality education should be provided regardless of location and is, perhaps, more sacred in places where education is lacking.
One of my students' favorite subjects in our class is Writing Workshop. Students ask me, "Can we stay from recess to write more?" To help them keep up their enthusiasm for their writing, I find unique ways to publish their work. I am requesting the book binder so that their hard work can be published.
The book binder will benefit my students because it will give them a sense of being a "Writer," when they see that their work is as "official" as any "real" book. This is not possible as of now, because book binding costs so much money for me to personally fund. I am only able to bind a limited amount of books and always feel badly that I cannot do more.
With your contribution, my students' writing will be with them for years to come. Many of the students' work gets discarded once it goes home, but I've been informed that when the books have been bound in the past, they were kept and cherished. This will only be possible with your help!
