Paper for Pre-Algebra

It is only December, we have about 6 months of school left this year and we have been notified by administration that we are out of paper for the year. I teach seventh grade mathematics. I have about 100 students that range from low level to honors. Our school district has been experiencing financial difficulties over the past couple of years. This year, the teacher's union agreed to take an approximate $1000 pay cut per teacher.

Not having paper for the remainder of the year would make giving quizzes, tests, practice sheets and notes almost impossible. I would be forced to interrupt the routines and procedures that I have worked hard to establish with my students over the past four months.

In order to maintain the routines that I have developed with my students and to ensure that their learning continues throughout the rest of the year, I am requesting photocopy paper. I will use the paper to copy practice sheets, templates for class notes, and assessments. Practice and assessment are essential components in the learning process, especially in the learning of mathematics.

Your help will make it possible for me to continue teaching my students in a very effective manner. It will allow for my students and I to continue with the routines that we have established for the remainder of the year.
