Supplies Needed for the Whole School PE Classes

My yoga program needs 2 yoga teaching dvds and 2 music CDs, with 1 CD boombox.

I am a PE teacher teaching the whole school (205) students from PK through 5th grade. We are a charter school and serve very diverse student body, of which 85% come from lower income families.

We just moved to the new rented school building this September. However, the transition made the school lose more than 60 students. This means we are short of funds. During this school year, each teacher got only $100 to spend for her class. Although teaching the whole school PE, I could have only spent $100 for PE equipment.

Winter is around the corner. In fact, during these days, the snowy weather and icy roads prevent our students from traveling/walking one block away from school to the gymnasium which we share with a high school. We have to have the PE class inside the classroom. Considering the limitation of space and the level of noise in the classroom, we feel doing yoga is the best activity for the kids when the weather doesn’t permit us to go to the gym.

We do have some yoga mats. However, we don't have any material to teach/guide kids how to do yoga. We need a boombox and yoga teaching DVD and accompanying music CD to run this program. Therefore, we do need your help! Your generous donation will not only provide the opportunity for the kids to increases strength and flexibility by doing yoga, but also create an environment in which our kids could enhances respect for nature by experiencing yoga.
