We're Experiencing Technical Difficulties

My students need three Acer Aspire laptop computers and one laptop depot.

My school is located in a high needs community. I am the school's IEP teacher. I service students who are having academic difficulties in the general education setting. Currently I have forty students. I see them in groups of eight for forty-five minutes a day(in a separate location).

BUDGET CUTS HAVE BEEN TREMENDOUS THIS YEAR! This is having extremely serious and depressing consequences especially in a high needs community school. In spite of this, teachers(and administration) are doing the best they can to "soften these economic blows" which is not an easy feat by any means. This where I truly and most desperately NEED your help! I need several laptop computers and a charging station for my program. Our school has some incredible educational software to help our learning disabled students which have been effective. I had four laptops but now two are not functioning properly (one now has a blank screen). The school was going to order replacements and extras for my program but under the circumstances that is no longer a possibility.

Three laptops and a storage station will make a difference for my students. They will be able to use the educational software to help build their decoding and reading skills. Our school uses software like Lexia that helps students with reading difficulties particularly decoding. Cross Trainer is a program that helps students with visual-spatial problems. It also assists them in developing their critical thinking skills. Life will be so much easier for students with physical disabilities because they could type their writing assignments. It allows them to focus on their ideas and not on their letter formation. The internet is rich with educational websites like "One More Story.com", Multiplication.com", "Starfall.com", and so many others that will reinforce the concepts the children have learned. The storage depot will provide a place where the laptops can be safely stored and recharge.

Donorschoose has made so many things possible in my classroom. At every difficult turn Donorschoose has been there to support our classroom needs. I believe wholeheartedly in Donorschoose and I also believe that you will once again support our educational goals. I KNOW you will make it possible for my kids to ultimately become life long readers and learners.
