My students need 5 sets of an Optics Activity set that includes a light box.

Down in quiet Mississippi exists a high need Physics class of 18 bright 12th grade students.

In a physics classroom, lab experience is essential to aiding in grasping the concepts of physics. The problem these wonderful students are facing, however, is that they lack the supplies to have a meaningful lab experience as some of the more priviledged highschools in their area.

The opportunity to supply their lab with 5 lightbox and optical kits will tremendously cultivate their lab experience into the one they deserve: well-equipped for optimized learning. These lightbox and optical kits will provide the opportunity for these kids to learn a variety of topics from a variety of different experiments. These topics include light polarization, diffraction, interference, virtual and real images, and lenses.

Many of my students want to go to medical school to become doctors, pharmacists, or study to become forensic scientists. Their great character is evident by these ambitious goals where being "successful" in their area often means being in gangs and selling drugs. You have the power to change the lives of 18 students and their families in small-town Mississippi by enhancing their lab and thus making their ambitious goals one step closer to reality.
