CPR2: Creating a Passion for Reading

My students need 13 books that are interesting and captivating to read for Silent Sustained Reading.

This project is fully funded

I teach 9th through 12th grade Intensive Reading - Florida's remedial reading class. While my school is not high need, the students in my classes are. They make up the low economic portion of our school for the most part.

Many of my students have never even read an entire book. I want to provide them with high interest books that they can relate to in order to create a new passion for reading. I have had great success with some of the series of books included in my list: Ellen Hopkins books, the Twilight series, Clique series, etc.

By helping fund the purchase of these books, you will be helping struggling readers maybe read their first book. I will be adding these books to my classroom library and use them year after year!

Help my students, who are often overlooked at my school, find a new passion for reading by providing them with these materials.
