The Right Mouse for Me

My school needs 20 computer mice that are appropriate for Pre-K and Kindergarten students.

Officially, I am the K-3rd grade ESL teacher. In my classes I like to use song, music, art, computers and physically involve my students in the language process. Unofficially, I am also the "Tech Gal". We do not have a computer lab or teacher, but I do the best I can, fixing computers and printers, loading/downloading software, cleaning mice and creating the school webpage. Our school has wonderful teachers who go the extra mile to use technology.

Our ESL program uses Rosetta Stone to help teach English. These mice would help my younger ESL students. I also organize all the younger grades with The Children's Progress assessment which is a computer assessment that has taken the place of New York State's written assessments. It needs to be given 3 times a year. The new computers have come with adult size mice with a rolling wheel that confuses the kids when they accidentally click on it. It's not fair to give them the assessment with these unwieldy mice. We need mice for them. These computer assessments are going to be used to determine students' futures so the better the mouse, the more accurate the tests will be.

A tiny mouse for a tiny hand- I would like the Chester one button green and black mouse. This Chester Tiny Mouse is from the same maker and is the perfect size. It will make taking the tests as well as managing all computer programs much easier for the students.

Think about it. The right mouse should feel comfortable in your hand. I see these students struggling to get a grip on the mouse without touching the ball or clicking the right button. Their hands are just too small. This would be a wonderful gift for our school and benefit the students for years to come.
