Into The TWILIGHT Zone...

My students are thirsting for new young adult literature, and with the rise of the new Twilight film they want - no, they BEG - to read this series. We need 13 copies of books from the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer.

I am an English I teacher at a high school that serves almost 3500 students. I teach my students for 100 minutes a day and am a part of the Freshmen Academy, a small learning community in this mega high school.

My students, once reluctant readers, have expressed interest in reading current young adult literature to which they can relate. Many of my students do not have access to the literature at home so I am asking for your help to give them what they need.

I will use the novels to continue encouraging my students to read, a life skill necessary for survival. This series interests them and I want to seize this teachable moment. The Twilight saga is a best-selling series that will engage my reluctant readers!
