I can talk all day about Alvin Ailey or Martha Graham, but do you really know what their works were like or what they really mean? Not without seeing them... I teach dance rural high school where over 80% of our student population qualifies for free or reduced lunch. The community is supportive of sports and they want to see their children succeed in academics, but they forget about the arts.

Students who choose to take dance classes deserve to learn about the history of this incredible art and what is has done through out the world. These children do not get the dance experience that many others may get because of the location of our community in respect to places that showcase the arts on a regular basis.

An LCD projector will allow me to show historical dance pieces to my students so they can expand their knowledge of dance history, as well as learn about what was going on in the rest of the world and why dance is so important to society.

By helping purchase this LCD projector for use in my dance classroom, you will be giving my students an opportunity they otherwise may not get now or in the future.
