Safety First

My students need safety mats to be placed over a climbing wall in the gym.

I am a physical education teacher in NY. Our building is K-6. We are a high need school with over 95% of our students on free or reduced lunch.

We are trying to get our portable climbing wall, which is very difficult to set up and take down, permanently installed onto the gym wall. We cannot have this done unless we have the safety mats to cover the wall when not in use.

We are looking for donors to help us work toward our goal. Any amount of money to work toward our goal would be greatly appreciated.

Currently, our students are able to use this climbing wall only about 2 weeks out of the school year due to space limitations and extracurricular activities that use the space. If this wall is permanently attached to the wall it can be used a few days a week for the entire school year. This wall can be integrated into 75% or our curriculum to help increase upper and lower body strength as well as confidence in our students. The variety of activities our students experience is critical while working toward our OVERALL GOAL OF TEACHING OUR STUDENTS ABOUT LIFE LONG HEALTH AND FITNESS.
