We have a room full kindergarteners who have a love for reading! I teach Kindergarten at an inner-city school within a high needs community. Nearly all of my students receive free/reduced meals. In many cases, these children come from homes where the parent did not graduate from high school and therefore learning is not considered important. I am instilling a love of learning in them along with a passion for reading! I want them to be successful in their lives!

Students in our school struggle with reading, which holds them back academically. In my Kindergarten class, many of my students are reading and LOVE it. Unfortunately, we struggle with having enough "just right" books in our classroom.

We have a great need for "just right" books so that our children can continue building their reading and comprehension skills. The more time students have with their eyes on text, the better readers they become! And the better readers they become, the smarter they will be academically, which in turn will help them to become successful adults some day.

You will make it possible for my students to have their eyes on text which in turn will help them to continue to become wonderful readers! If you can read, you can do anything!
