I teach second grade in Washington. Our school is in a high-need, low income community. Quality learning materials are essential to closing the gap in our high-need communities!

My students love to practice their reading, writing, and math skills independently and with partners. As the old saying goes practice makes perfect! Paper, pencil and ditto's do not engage nor motivate students to learn.

Learning centers provided the practice of important skills that every student needs. Centers is also a important part of the whole in any well rounded curriculum. It allows my students to be independent learners. They love having a variety of activities which keep even the toughest kid motivated! The centers will target basic skills every second grade student needs to practice: sight word practice, decoding skills with word families, parts of speech practice, place value decoding,money skills, readers theater for fluency, math sliders to help with story problems, and writing center to promote writing skills to show of their talent. These hands on activity promote others ways of learning, while being motivating and engaging!

We cannot educate our students alone, it requires a partnership with the world community. These materials will be used for several generations of second grade learners. Thank you for listening and making quality education possible. You will make it possible for my students to practice and perfect their basic skills which is the foundation for deeper learning.
