My students need 5 personal CD players with headphones to listen to stories on CDs.

I teach in a rural area. The average income at my school is below the states average.

We are not receiving any money from the state for classroom supplies this year due to the state budget issues. My students love to be read to and many are not read to at home. They need to "hear" the words come alive in books and these CD players will do just that. You can make it possible for students to enjoy listening to stories on Cd's and improve their fluency at the same time!

My students can share 5 CD players during our independent workshop time. By funding this proposal you will make it possible for my students to engage in their literacy learning. Students love technology and they love the power they have when they get to use such materials. It's a fantastic way to put reading into their hands!
