Magical Museum Mystery Tour

My students need a TV/DVD/VCR combo that they can use for video conferencing with museums across the country.

Please help me bring some of the most amazing museum exhibits to the over 500 children in our school. I am the museum educator at an inner city science & technology magnet school. I teach low-income children from Pre-Kindergarten to 6th grade both regular and special education classes.

An important part of museum education is being able to give children access to information through sensory enriched environments. However, it's not possible to bring children to museums that are not within walking distance from our school. Yet, there is a solution, video-conferencing.

Many museums have exhibits that can be experienced through video-conferencing. With the proper equipment, we can visit the Smithsonian or visit a native American village in the Southwest without ever leaving upstate New York. In order to have the proper equipment we need an updated television to hook up to our computer equipment. At this time I do not have a television in my room and the televisions that are in the building are outdated.

With your help you will make it possible for our children to visit the world without leaving the classroom. We can even go in space with NASA's video-classroom. Bringing video-conferencing technology into the museum classroom will change the lives of hundreds of children.
