We are a rural school in a K-12 building and we nee reading help for our students in grades 2, 3 and 4.

I work with rural students in grades 2, 3 and 4 who are struggling to become readers. Trying to get them motivated to read and write are sometimes a challenge.

Our school budgets are in a time of crisis. However, children still need innovative ideas and activities to get them interested in reading and writing. Children always love taking pictures. Having a digital camera and replacement batteries to allow my students to take photos. We will frame their favorite photo in a digital frame. They will then write a description of their photo. The description will include where the photo was taken, when it was taken, who/what is in the photo, and why they chose that photo.

Having the digital camera and digital frames will allow my students to learn the use of new technology while being creative and innovative.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
