What's That Fish?!

My students need 4 copies of the book "Reef Fish Identification Florida Caribbean Bahamas" to identify fish species on a coral reef field trip.

Grades 6-8

I teach 7th grade science in a typically underfunded public middle school. Our students are of a highly diverse population and include many visual and kinesthetic learners. We have limited, old supplies from the 70's that I am slowly trying to update and upgrade.

Since many of my students are highly visual and kinesthetic, we try to do as many hands on, real life experiences as possible. We are in need of 4 fish identification books to help the students identify actual fish viewed on our annual snorkeling safari. On this exciting field trip, we teach our students about our Earth's fragile ecosystems and the interrelationships among living things. Many of our students have never been outside of their own neighborhood, let alone in the ocean! So this trip is a real eye opener, to say the least.

As soon as the students jump out of the water after their snorkel adventure they always want to identify all the organisms they saw and these books would satisfy that curiosity for them immediately if I had 4 of these books on the bus with us. Also, I can keep them in the classroom to allow students to study them before and after the trip. With the use of the these books, they will learn more about these organisms than ever before.

Your help will allow my students to create memorable learning moments that will stick with them for a lifetime.
