Ms. W. Creekside Elementary School
Kaysville, UT Grades 3-5

I am a teacher of 750 students. I teach all aspects of music. Composition, improvisation, rhythm, notation, analyzing, instrumentation and dictation. I cover music history in all areas of music, including classical, jazz, musical theatre, opera and orchestral. We are a moderately needy school. Our families are apartment dwellers as well as first home owners with young families to raise.

I cover all of these aspects of music education and have less than 25 instruments to use as teaching tools. We only have one xylophone and a few small cymbals and hand drums. I want these children to be able to experience ALL forms of pitched AND non-pitched percussion instruments in their learning. In order to improve the quality of musically educated students that move on to Jr. High, High School and eventually University, it is imperative that they have a broad and complete foundation of learning in their elementary years.

We are in need of MANY things but are especially in need of pitched percussion instruments. If they can be exposed to making music at an early age, they will blossom in ALL aspects of education. I work diligently to teach music that enforces the learning they receive in every other aspect of their education. This is the only way they can cement their learning - to USE instruments. Each student is taught how to care for these instruments, how to play them and how to write music for them.

Your help will ensure that my 750 students will be well rounded, educated and confident human beings in all aspects of their education - not just their musical education. You will be satisfying a desperate hunger for further learning.
