This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
Students in a rural Mississippi high school need to know the history of art from the beginning to the present.
I would like to introduce to my students the history of art from the beginning to the present day. What better way other than to show visual pictures. My students are always wanting to see examples or what a particular artwork is of different artists that we are covering. Normally, I would provide a photocopy of the artwork which has very poor quality or I would have the students to gather around my desk to view pictures on the desktop computer. With a class size of 25+ students that is really hard to do.
If we are funded, I would be able to show artworks visually to my students as well as some of the student work for presentations. Also, the LCD projector would assist with my visual learners.
Your assistance will ensure that my students will appreciate art for what it is worth. After all, students see only what they are prepared to see.
