Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

We're fishin' for some exciting math manipulatives! Due to low family income, my Kindergarten and first grade students come to school deficient in skills and have lots to learn. These resources would give them the chance to experience number sense and learn the basics in a meaningful way.

My students live in a high poverty area and attend a public school that is terribly underfunded. We work hard to master the fundamentals of mathematics, but need some new materials to keep learning fun.

I would love to give my students an opportunity to learn the basics of counting and number sense by working in small groups with hands on materials. My request list includes magnetic fishing numbers and pole set, magnetic learning numbers, counting chains with links, match and learn math boards, and magnetic number sequence strips.

Your help would ensure our students make much needed progress in mathematical number sense as well as instill an excitement for learning numbers and their patterns!
