Welcome to the 7th grade Explorers! We explore the areas of Africa, Asia, and Australia. We are a rural community school in our second year of operation.

We are a very new school with a high percentage of students who have never been out of North Carolina, let alone traveled to Africa! We need books to help our students explore and learn about Africa. My students are very eager to learn and I can't wait to get them excited about exploring Africa through our virtual Safari!

The eighteen books I have selected will allow my students to explore all areas of African culture and history. From the Nile River to African wedding traditions, my students will be able to learn about Africa with these books. In order for my students to be successful in today's global society, they must be aware and understand the world around them. Africa produces products that we use everyday and the social and economic struggles within Africa are global issues. My students must understand these issues and how they affect the global society they live in. These books will not only explain these issues but also excite their interest in learning.

Your help will ensure that my students are aware of the world around them and how Africa impacts their everyday lives. Your support will help guide our future generations to a love of exploration and discovery. Without these books, my students may not fully understand the global impact of Africa and it's many natural wonders.
